Customize Images in DALLE-3 with Seeds

You can now edit images in DALL-E 3 with seed identification and modification prompts! Check out how I used it below in honour of the @caceacace conference I'm attending in #Montreal this week.

Think of a "seed" as an image's unique DNA/key identifier that will allow you to make tweaks to an image you already created without having DALLE-3 completely start from scratch every time.

Here's how to give seed editing a try:

🌱 Open ChatGPT and select DALLE-3 from the GPT-4 menu.

🌱 Generate an image with any prompt. I used "A vintage-style image of a gigantic statue of a robot holding a large sign that says CACE 2023 on it, set in Montreal, Canada."

🌱 Get the seed ID (unique image identifier) by asking ChatGPT: "What is the seed for (whichever image you like best)?"

🌱 Plug the seed number into this prompt: "Make these changes to the image with [insert seed number]: [explain changes in detail]. In this case, my original image was fine, but I wanted the robot to have a friendlier vibe.

🌱 As with all prompts, refine until you get what you're looking for.
