"Product placement" in AI image generation models?

The image Midjourney generated to go with my "gaslighting AI" post produced a woman using a Mac laptop, which got me thinking.

Why Mac and not PC? And how long until we see endorsements that ensure the models always generate a bag of Doritos when someone asks for chips, a CocaCola when something is drinking a soda, and what really is the determining factor in what "brands" are generated in an image?

How long until advertising is built directly into the generative AI models, and how will that change marketing?
